The neighbourhood is perched on a lofty hill facing the red hill of the Alhambra. Its streets are winding, narrow and elusive; its squares are luminous, secluded and intimate; the palaces, mansions and churches are brimming with history and art.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In the Albayc\u00edn there are many c\u00e1rmenes, which are houses with gardens, typical of Granada, and Mudejar towers. The viewpoints of San Nicol\u00e1s and San Crist\u00f3bal offer magnificent views of Granada and the Alhambra.
